Smile in the breeze
Honey, I had a wonderful dream today, I don't remember much about my dream, but the dream is still very vivid in my mind. I just get to the point, otherwise it reads like a novel. Yes:
We had flown to the island, checked into a hotel and decided to take a walk and find somewhere to eat dinner. The staff at the hotel desk suggested finding a quaint cafe down the street.
We found it and went inside. I don't know what the attraction is here, but there are so many people here. We were greeted by a young woman who said it would take us at least an hour to find a table, but there was a bit of room to stand in the bar.
We stood there, ordered drinks, and began to survey the room. You happen to notice an elegant old woman sitting alone at a table, who waves us over and asks if we would like to join her. Of course. We sat down to dinner with this charming lady and had a pleasant conversation.
Over the course of our conversation, we learned that her husband had died two years earlier, and she decided she had grieved enough and began to move on with her life. She intends to leave by boat in two weeks and then go on safari and other trips.
We explained that we had just arrived on the island and were looking for a place to relocate. The lady was smiling as if she'd won the lottery, but judging by the way she looked and dressed, she didn't need to!
She said she had a hunch that something had drawn her to that place for dinner that night. She explained that she would probably be gone for almost a year and was looking for someone to house sit and asked if we would be interested.
We talked about it and decided why not, it would take the pressure off of our hurried search for a home in the hope of finding what we were looking for.
After three hours, we parted ways and agreed to meet in the hotel lobby in the morning, where she would pick us up and show us around.
The next morning, we met as planned, and she picked us up in her Bentley and showed us around. She drove for about 20 minutes and finally turned into the driveway leading to her "estate." The image of the Magnum pie popped into my mind.
Okay, that's a little long, but her humble home is probably worth more than $8 million. Beautiful. About 200 yards from the beach. Perfect! We lamented that it would be a dream if we could find such a place we could afford.
🤣
